Before that she was competitive at A7, winning in late April. Two wins from eight course and distance starts, all graded form. Trap 1 is fair at this grade at 15.2%, but she has been off seven weeks and her best recent form is two grades below this. Needs to prove her wellbeing.

Won back-to-back A5 races in mid-June — 29.51 and 29.62, leading early both times — before fading into fifth last time when the early effort told. All graded form, two wins and three places from ten course and distance starts. Trap 2 is average here at 14.1%. He has the early pace to make the selection work for the lead, and on his June form he holds obvious claims; the question is which version turns up.

Has not won since April and was beaten over a second last time at this grade, bumped early and never sighted. His two course wins came at A6 and A7 — this is a tougher assignment — and he is the slowest in the field on the clock rankings. All graded form, eight course and distance runs. Trap 4 is middling at 15.7%. His 76-rated peak in the spring shows latent ability, but everything recent points the wrong way.

Joint-top-rated with genuine A4 form — three wins from ten course and distance starts and an 80-rated peak within his last four runs — but the recent pattern is grim: outpaced and never showing in his last two, and now drawn in trap 5, which wins just 10.6% of A5 races here. All graded form. Class-wise he should be winning this; the draw and his flat recent efforts say otherwise. The classic trappy A5 favourite to oppose.
