Droopys Samara is the class act of this field by a considerable margin, with a rating nearly 25 points above her nearest rival. She won nicely from this very trap last week at D2, leading into the first bend, getting headed, and then powering back to regain the lead near the line — showing the tenacity that made her an open-race performer at her peak. Her form line reads inconsistently in recent months, but her last effort was encouraging, and a dog of her calibre dropping back to D1 level should have too much quality for these rivals. Trap 6 is the best-performing box at these conditions, and her outstanding trap suitability confirms she goes well from the stripes.
Proven course and distance winner from the ideal trap. Stepping up in class is the question mark, but everything else lines up well.
Consistent but drawn in the worst part of the track for this grade and distance. Hard to make a winning case tonight.
The worst trap draw in the race by a wide margin undermines any ability edge. Would need a significant class gap to overcome it, and he doesn't have one.
Capable on her day and drawn in a dominant trap, but crowding risk at the first bend limits confidence after last week's trouble.
Course form is there but tonight's wider draw doesn't suit based on individual history. Others have better structural fits.
Strong outside/middle bias. T6 dominant at 23.5% from 358 runs. T2 worst box at just 10.2% from 225 runs. Normal composite separation — R1 at 21.7% vs R3 at 15.9%.
