Beatties Lyra is head and shoulders above this field on ability. Before her recent trial, she produced three consecutive high-class efforts including a peak performance that would be exceptional at any D2 level. Her early pace is blistering — she breaks like lightning and should be in front before the first bend, which at Monmore's tight 264-metre sprint is essentially the whole race. Drawn in the dominant trap 2 position, this is as good a structural and class alignment as you'll find. The only mild concern is that she tends to weaken in the closing stages, but at sprint distance the trip is too short for that to matter — she'll be across the line before the fade kicks in.
Outstanding trap suitability in a dominant draw — the clear danger if the favourite has any trouble.
Lightly raced with decent venue suitability but lacks the form to trouble the principals.
Dead draw and outclassed — very hard to see a path to victory here.
Talented but the closing style is a genuine mismatch at this sprint distance — pace profile trumps ability here.
Outclassed at D2 level — suited by conditions but lacks the raw ability to compete.
T2 and T1 dominate this sprint. T4 is structurally dead. Normal composite separation at 6.2pp. Front runners and inside draws heavily favoured at 264m.
T1:20.7%(121) T2:22.0%(118) T3:15.6%(141) T4:8.5%(94) T5:17.8%(90) T6:17.5%(154)
