Best AP in the race at 59, which on a fair/galloping track where performance is the dominant factor, is the headline number. Closer profile (CS74) is well-suited to Hove 500m — not the strongest closer in the race (Minstrels Five has CS100) but CS74 is enough to finish through the Hove straight, and crucially he's attached to a dog that's actually running competitively. Form reads 61→70→58→46→56 — the 70 and 61 show genuine A5 quality, the 58 and 56 are solid, and only the 46 is a miss. Speed 55 is the best in the field and bend 42 is moderate. TSuit 47 and TrpS 49 are decent. T4 at 20.19% is fair. Trainer G S Byford at 22% is moderate-tier. The form isn't as dramatically improving as Punk Rock Harley's, but the AP advantage (59 vs 57), the better speed (55 vs 52), and the proven ability to run 70 at this level make Kanturk Tony the marginally preferred selection. The galloping track gives his CS74 every opportunity to close.
DANGER: P J Browne 42% + best trap (24.11%) + TSuit 65 is a live combination that can't be dismissed. The recent form collapse (21, 30) is alarming but Browne placements often produce bounce races.
DANGER: Most consistent improving form (49→52→65→70→67), strong CS82, and AP57. The trajectory suggests a dog approaching peak — a genuine threat to the pick.
CS100 from a good trap but form collapse (59→14) and rock-bottom suitability (TSuit 15, DSuit 20) make her hard to support. The 14 last time suggests something is fundamentally wrong.
Best early pace but classic Fader at the wrong distance and track type. She'll lead early and weaken late, setting up the race for the closers behind. Not competitive for the win.
Worst trap + CS3 (lowest on card) + Fader profile at 500m = a dog heading backwards through the final stages. The 68 form was at a different setup; this configuration doesn't work.
R1 composite wins 23.89% — the top-rated dog has a clear edge at A5. T1 at 24.11% is the dominant trap from 253 runs. T6 at 16.33% is the weakest draw. Interesting that R3 outperforms R2 (20.31% vs 18.04%) suggesting mid-table dogs can upset at A5.
T1:24.11%(253) T2:19.16%(261) T3:23%(200) T4:20.19%(208) T5:18.26%(115) T6:16.33%(147)
