Russanda Bertha is the classiest dog in the field on overall form but there are real questions about her profile for a 280-metre sprint. She tends to be slow into stride and relies on a strong finishing kick — over two bends at Sheffield that may not give her enough time to reel in the leaders. Finished fourth here over course and distance last week with a clear run, and while she ran well at longer trips earlier in the winter, this shorter game is a different test. Has to be respected on ability alone.
Best draw in the field and the pace to use it. The main threat.
Poor recent form and a bad draw. Others preferred.
Modest ability. Needs significant improvement to feature.
Lightly raced and progressive. Could outrun his odds.
In form but badly drawn. The trap is a big negative.
Trap 3 dominant by a wide margin. Composite R1 at 23.7% shows reasonable separation.
