He's slow early and does his best work late, which off a handicap start means he should still be in the hunt turning for home. He's also the type who burns bright early and weakens late, which over 500 metres against a closing pack usually ends the same way. Hard to see him lasting home in front.

She hasn't won in ten attempts at this course and distance, her recent figures sit in the 20s and 30s — comfortably the weakest form in the field — and her best time of 31.67 is over a second slower than the favourite's. She did run a slightly better 38 last time, and front markers can occasionally pinch these if left alone early, but she'd need the race to fall apart behind her.
