The class act in this field. Won impressively at Hove OR earlier this month, then came to Towcester and finished a strong second behind a useful winner last Saturday. What separates him from his rivals is his first-bend pace — his sectional times around the turn are consistently quicker than anything else in this lineup, and at Towcester that is the difference between leading into the back straight and getting shuffled back. The Ballymac Vic pup has placed at OR1 level at multiple tracks and drops into OR2 tonight which represents a significant class edge. Trainer Rees knows what he has and the fact this dog has trialled specifically at Towcester suggests a targeted campaign. Should be able to use that turn speed from trap 3 to grab an early pitch and control the race from the front.
Fastest raw clock in the field but trap 4 is a graveyard at Towcester OR2 — needs a miracle first bend to overcome the draw.
Has ability on his day but slow around the first bend and declining recent form makes him hard to trust in this company.
Capable on his day but that 30.85s last time is a confidence killer. Needs a clean first bend to have any chance.
Far too little form to make any confident assessment. One race, one poor finish, wide draw — watching brief only.
Proven closer with track knowledge but slowest bend speed from the widest draw is a non-starter at a bend-dominated track.
Speed R1 dominates at 30% win rate. Bend R2 surprisingly outperforms R1 (29.7% vs 20.4%) in this small sample. Trap 2 is the standout box with 31.6% win rate and positive P&L. Trap 4 is a graveyard at just 7.7%.
