Quite simply the fastest greyhound in the English Derby this year. Two starts, two wins, two performances that have marked him down as something special. His 28.36 last week was a breathtaking display of front-running brilliance — very quick away, he led every yard and never came off the bridle. The time is comfortably the fastest posted by any dog in these quarter-finals and suggests he is operating at a level above his rivals. From trap 3, the statistically strongest draw at Towcester 500m, he has every opportunity to ping the lids and burn them off before they reach the back straight. Only two career starts, which creates a note of uncertainty, but what he has shown so far is exceptional. Liam Dowling clearly has a special one on his hands, and this dog could be the talk of the Derby if he keeps progressing.
Fearsome late closer with brilliant Towcester form — will be right there if the pick makes any error at all.
Honest railer who should make the frame but faces two opponents on a different level entirely.
Consistent and talented but exposed last week as a level below the top two in this heat.
Game and improving but lacks the raw speed to challenge the leading trio in this heat.
Brave front-runner who ran a huge race last week but trapped wide and unlikely to replicate it.
In OR grade at Towcester, bend rank 1 wins at 34.5% — the dog who gets to the front at the first bend dominates.
