The fastest dog to the first bend in this field, and from trap 1 that is a huge weapon at Towcester where the leader around that turn wins over a third of all OR-grade races. His best time of 28.82, clocked when finishing a strong second in OR1 company, proves he has the raw ability to dominate at this level. The concern is consistency — last time out he finished fifth after crowding at the first bend, and his form line reads 5-2-4 in his last three Towcester runs. But dropping from OR1 to OR2 is a significant class relief, and with the rails draw protecting him from early trouble, he should be able to dictate from the front. When he gets a clear run, he is the best dog in this race by some distance. Won at OR1 level at Dunstall Park in March and that form towers over anything else on show here.
Quickest time in the field last week and a powerful closer — the main threat if the pace is honest up front.
Talented closer from a fair draw but his one Towcester run was slow to the bend — fitness for purpose is the question.
Two Towcester wins and the best draw, but a class below the pick and needs everything in his favour.
Won well last week but trapped wider here and faces a stronger field — place chance at best.
Fast early but fades badly and trapped wide — the combination is fatal at this track.
In OR grade at Towcester, bend rank 1 wins at 34.5% — the first bend leader dominates this track regardless of overall ability.
