Salvador Aeriel is one of the more inconsistent dogs on the card — a 64 when second three starts ago but a 42 and a 23 either side of that, suggesting the good runs are the exception rather than the rule. He's an all-rounder from the structurally strong rail draw who should sit handy behind the early pace, and he has decent course knowledge with nine runs at this venue. His most recent effort of 46 was modest but he was bumped and hit the rails, which partly explains the disappointing figure. When he gets a clean run and produces his best, he has enough ability to win an A6 — the question is reliability. The combination of the dominant trap and highest ratings in the field just about tips the balance, but this is a tentative selection at best.
