Arrives here from a different circuit having run mostly over 450 metres at Doncaster, where he has been in outstanding form — P88 and P86 in his last two, including a win at A3 level and a third in an OR sprint race. His speed rating is the highest in this field by a considerable margin, and the model ranks him at the top as well. The critical caveat is his draw: trap 3 has produced winners at barely one in ten at A3 480m — the most structurally disadvantaged position in the race. To counteract this, he trialled over 480m at Dunstall Park just twelve days ago, finishing first in a reasonable time, so the track is not entirely unknown to him. His Closer profile means he needs to avoid early traffic — starting from the worst box makes that harder. On pure ability this is his race; on structure, it is a gamble. Hence Speculative.
Best structural trap, class drop from A2, proven course form — the main danger.
Best average form and decent trap — genuine contender, but needs a clear run to produce his best.
Class dropper with ability to win at this level, but poor last run and limited course familiarity.
Has the class but recent form has not shown it — each-way rather than win.
T1 dominant at 24.21%. T3 worst at 9.62% — Mr Fraser's structural handicap. Comp R1 reliable at 20.19% for A3.
