Harlequin Gambit has won twice at this level in his last four Yarmouth starts, including a dominant all-the-way success at 93 just two runs back where nobody could get near him. His other A1 start here produced an excellent second at 87 where he led until near the line. Last time he ran a respectable third at Doncaster in an open race — a different track entirely — and was crowded at the third bend which cost him momentum. A rails-to-mid runner who likes to lead, and from the inside box he should be able to tuck onto the rail and set the terms. The big question is whether he can fend off the multiple front-running rivals in the field, but his Yarmouth A1 record of two wins and a second from three starts makes him the one to beat.
A1 winner three starts back who sits off the pace — ideally positioned if the front-runners clash early.
A1 winner from this trap who comes off a career-best staying effort — the structural position is ideal if the 462m form returns.
A1 winner with the fastest recent time but returning off a trial — the pace is there but fitness is the unknown.
Two impressive recent wins and an A2 time that matches A1 level — but this is her first run at the top grade, which demands caution.
Very strong separation at A1 level (R1 25.04% vs R3 12.70% = 12.3pp) — the widest gap of any grade at Yarmouth. At the top level, class tells. Trap 3 has a modest structural edge but the spread is relatively flat compared to lower grades.
