Anglesey West has exceptional early pace and bend metrics that are off the charts for this grade. His front-running profile is exactly what you want over Central Park's tight 277-metre sprint, where the dog that leads through the first bend usually wins. He's been placed in three of his last four starts at this grade, including second on his most recent outing, showing he's competitive without quite converting. His course suitability of 65 is by far the best in the field — he clearly loves this venue. Trap four is structurally neutral at 18.9% from 297 runs, and his individual trap suitability of just 12 is a concern, but his pace advantage is so extreme that it should override the trap data. In a low-separation grade, his front-running style from a neutral draw with elite suitability makes him the pick.
Class dropper with a recent win at D1 — the danger if the pick fails to fire.
Good draw but consecutive fourth-place finishes show he can't compete at this level.
Consistent performer but the dead draw makes winning very difficult.
Closer with no early pace at a tight sprint trip — the profile couldn't be worse for this race.
Best draw on the track but so inconsistent that the structural advantage is wasted.
LOW SEPARATION — 3.2pp gap. T6 and T1 dominant. Pick in T4 (18.9%) is neutral but has exceptional early pace and course suitability. The pace metrics override the marginal trap data.
