Dinner Charlie is the class act on this card. His average performance rating is the highest by a clear margin, and he's won three of his last five starts including two course and distance victories. He has excellent early pace and the strongest first bend rating in the race, meaning he should lead from trap 3 — the best-performing box at A2 Romford 400. The fading tendency is the caveat — he does lose ground late — but his class advantage is large enough that even when fading, he fades from first to first rather than first to third. Kevin O'Flaherty's 28% strike rate adds further confidence. Five course and distance wins from ten starts is outstanding.
