Salacres Awyr is an open-race winner dropping from A2 500-metre company where she posted an outstanding 89. That level of ability is in a completely different stratosphere to D2 270 metres — she is, by a considerable margin, the most talented dog on the entire Towcester card tonight. She trialled well here at 270 metres last week and her suitability scores are excellent across the board (track 58, distance 64, trap 64). Drawn on the rail in a structurally dominant position, with trainer Harnden at 24%, everything lines up. The only slight question is adapting from 500 metres to a sprint, but her class should overwhelm any tactical issues.
Best drawn runner with proven course form and decent class — the main danger.
Big class dropper with early pace — the other danger alongside Fabulous Jura.
High-class ability but returning from a seven-month absence — too risky to support strongly.
Stepping up from D3 into a field of class droppers from the worst draw — too much to ask.
Honest D2 regular but massively outclassed by the dropped-in runners tonight.
Inside boxes dominate 270m D2 at Towcester. The pick draws in the dominant T1 position with the best ability in the race — a strong structural and class alignment.
