But the race isn't straightforward. Kingsholm Road (trap 6) arrives from Monmore with raw speed figures that blow the rest of the field away. A speed rating of 88 and a first-bend rating of 100 suggest he could be lengths clear at the first turn. The catch? He's never raced at Valley, his suitability scores are zeroes across the board, and his form reads three defeats from three at open level, including a "Very Slow Away" last time. He's the kind of dog who could win by daylight or finish nowhere.
Sudden Bolt (trap 5) is worth a second look too. His last run at A4 was a comfortable 28.81 win with early pace, and the step up in class to OR is ambitious but not absurd. The composite scores are tight across the middle of the field, which means trouble in running could decide this. If Kingsholm Road gets to the bend first and runs a clear rail, it could be a procession. If he doesn't, Wildcat and Sudden Bolt are waiting.
