Barbie Bullet is the standout pick on today's Hove card. She has the best speed figure of any runner across all twelve races, and her form at A2 and A1 has been consistently strong — second, fourth, second, third from her last four starts at the top two grades. Her all-round pace profile is a huge asset, allowing her to race prominently and sustain the effort through the closing stages, unlike the faders who will weaken. Trap 4 is the best-performing draw at A2, which adds structural support, and she has the class to hold off the closers who'll be charging home late. Her trainer B S Green is solid and the form line is remarkably consistent — she rarely runs a bad race at this level.
Rising star with devastating closing speed — the main threat if A2 isn't a grade too far.
High-class mare returning from a trial spell — could be anything but the unknowns are too many to trust.
Proven at this level with excellent venue form, but inconsistent — capable of placing without necessarily winning.
Will lead early but the fading tendency and strong closers behind make it hard to see him holding on.
Normal separation at A2 with a flat trap profile. Pick in the best-performing T4 with the best speed figure on the entire card (61). Multiple closers lurking but the pick's all-round pace gives her tactical advantage.
