Two recent trials over 500 metres here — winning both, including a 30.85 ten days ago — suggest the preparation has been thorough and the trainer believes she is ready. The question is whether trial fitness translates to race fitness against real opposition over a trip she has never contested in a competitive race before. Speed and composite both agree on her, which is the strongest signal at Towcester 500m. The class gap between A5 and A8 is enormous — even at eighty per cent of her best, she would be the classiest dog in this race by a wide margin. A speculative proposition given the layoff, but the raw ability is undeniable.
