The most reliable evidence in the race. Won the last two D2 runnings here — quick away both times, led from his customary wide line and held on. Three wins and five places from ten course and distance runs is the strongest D2-specific record in the field, and the average performance has been climbing steadily over his last six. Trap 6 at this grade wins 22.0 per cent — joint best of any box, giving him the wide-clear draw he wants. The model has him top-rated, the trap stats back him, and the C&D form is honest. The classier Kelseys Zoom is the obvious danger, but his trip switch makes him a much less straightforward proposition than the in-form sprint specialist drawn wide.
Right trap, in form, but the running style is wrong for the trip — danger rather than pick.
Quick away, but the dead trap caps the upside.
The class horse but the trip switch from 450m sprints is a genuine unknown.
Wrong trap, declining form, others preferred.
Worst trap at this grade is the killer.
Traps 1 and 6 carry the strongest win rates (22%+) — the rail and the wide-clear berth are the only boxes punching above average. Traps 2, 4 and 5 all collapse below 14%. The composite model is weak at this trip overall (composite R1 only 19.9% from 306 runs); speed and early pace are the more reliable lenses. From 850 D2 runs.
