Nothing on Friday's card rates higher than Mad For Cash, who goes from trap two in the 21:13 open over Romford's 575 metre trip. Her composite score of 70 is the standout number of the day, and a full 14 points clear of her nearest market rival Royal Hotshot in trap six.
The October 2023 bitch, by Ballymac Cashout out of Work Your Head and trained by N J Hunt, has made this course and distance her own. She won here over 575 metres just a week ago in 35.04, and before that took the same grade in a rapid 34.68 in early June. The one blemish in her recent line was a sixth in stronger OR1 company at the end of June, a run that reads more like a class ceiling than a form concern, because she came straight out and won again.
Trap two suits her too. She is drawn with cover on her inside from Full Monty, whose numbers give him little chance, and the main dangers all break from the middle and wide boxes. If she gets round the first two bends in front rank, the staying trip plays to her strengths.
The ratings gap here is unusually wide for open class. Alans Amigo in three and Mystical Batman in five score 53 and 52 respectively, so this is not a weak field, it is simply one dog in career form meeting solid opposition. She sets a standard the rest have to reach, and on the clock none of them have yet.
