That combination of identical conditions and a top-end performance rating is rare, and it pushes Bono's composite score to 77.4, the highest among the field's credible sprint candidates.
The main threat is Bramble Idris in trap 5, who finished second in that same race with a P86 performance and a composite of 74.4. Both dogs have modest track suitability scores in the 30s, and Bramble Idris' field speed rating of 62 shows genuine sprint ability at this trip. This is a genuine rematch between the top two from a week ago, and the narrow margins involved mean the result is far from certain.
The wildcards are in traps 1 and 2. Tinnock Stellar (T1) and Niosfearrnabolt (T2) both carry perfect first-bend ratings of 100, suggesting they will dispute the early running hard, but the context around both is difficult. Tinnock Stellar has been campaigning exclusively at HP over 480m and drops sharply in distance here — a completely different test. Niosfearrnabolt last ran in December 2025, arriving after more than six months off the track. Even with natural ability, fitness is a genuine question.
Newcastle's OR sprints show trap 4 winning at 50% in this grade and trip over 43 runs — double the rate of any other box. That structural advantage sits squarely behind Bono's case.
Tickets Outlaw (T3) was beaten nearly six lengths here last week and returns the weakest composite in the field at 43. Out of the reckoning.
